The young family of grass parrots has taken up residence inside a hollow tree limb that Geoff Eyers set up in his North Albury garden.
“This parrot put his head out and they’d nested with three young ones inside — I couldn’t believe it,” Mr Eyers said.
“I spend a lot of time out there watching them now.
“They’re sitting out there now, looking around and seeing what’s happening in the big world and it shouldn’t be long before they fly, they’re all feathered up.”
My Eyers said he hoped others would try to attract bird life to their yards.
“They’re tremendous,” he said.
“We travel a fair bit and the amount of bird and animal life around Australia is magnificent, it’s a very lucky country.”
