Organisers were thrilled with the turn out, in particular the number of women who were competing for the first time.
Perennial champion Julie Gollan-Foard was first across the line in a time of 40 minutes 23 seconds, followed by Angela Sandral in 45.57 and Emma Thompson finished third.
All three had earlier competed in the regular mini-tri, with Gollan-Foard and Sandral again taking the top two spots in the women’s category.
Wodonga’s Gavin Wickham was first overall in a time of 36.13, followed by junior triathlete Harrie Weatherall in 38.24 and Chris Westwood in 38.57.
Wickham described the conditions as ideal and said he felt good throughout the race despite having ridden 130 kilometres on Saturday.
About 150 competitors took part in the two events, one of the biggest turnouts the Albury-Wodonga Triathlon Club has seen in some time.
The day raised $1000 for the Albury-Wodonga McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses.
The next mini-tri will be at Allans Flat on December 9.
