There was an altercation in Sauvignon Drive at Corowa about 8pm on Monday.
Police allege a man, 22, was attacked and taken by ambulance to the Albury hospital where his partially severed ear was re-attached.
Two men were arrested at the scene and detectives from Albury investigated the matter with support from uniformed officers at Corowa.
A man, 36, has been charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily and using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Another man, 37, is charged with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and affray.
Both were given conditional bail to appear at Corowa Local Court on January 30.
The victim went home after treatment.
