Police hunt knife-wielding robber

Police are searching for a knife-wielding man who held up a convenience store in Geelong early Thursday morning. Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told the man entered the Settlement Road, Belmont, store just after 3.20am. The offender went to the service counter, where he brought a can of drink and when the register was opened he produced a large knife and threatened the attendant with it, demanding cash.

He took an unknown amount of cash and left on foot, heading north on Settlement Road. Police have described the man as Caucasian, approximately 25-30 years-old with a thin build. He was wearing a long black wig under a white cap with a black peak, blue and orange fluoro top, beige pants and white shoes. He may have tattoos on his left arm. No one was injured during the incident.
