Byte Size Productions, a subdivision of Albury-Wodonga Theatre Company, is designed for eight to 18-year-olds and costs $10 a year.
Its first production, Disney’s Aladdin, will show in June with auditions and workshops next month.
Sarah O’Farrell, 14, will attend the workshop, which will focus on the audition process and how to be successful.
“It’s not often someone is going to teach you how to do an audition,” she said.
Her mum, Nicole, said drama schools could be costly and many production companies were directed towards adults.
“My kids have found it hard to get involved,” she said.
“This is aimed at children and it is great to give them confidence.”
Byte Size committee member Amy Murray said the company wanted to give Albury-Wodonga children an opportunity that wouldn’t “cost the world”.
“There’s not much available for kids here. The few drama schools can be a bit pricey,” Mrs Murray said.
Those interested in the workshop on February 9 and 10, run by the Australian Theatre for Young People, can contact Byte Size chairman Lachlan Murray on 0466 891 206.
The workshop costs $25 per person.
Mrs Murray said Byte Size is seeking sponsorship to reduce the cost of workshops.
