A BORDER father, whose 10-year-old son was in tears after a brawl exploded at Noreuil Park on Australia Day, said people looked on in disgust at an incident now being investigated by police.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, arrived at the Albury park at 1.30pm on Saturday after the Australia Day ceremony.
He saw a group of young teenagers with an older woman in her 50s.
At 5pm, another group of at least four young women of a similar age arrived and an argument between the two groups ensued.
“There was a very loud argument with swearing that would embarrass any hardened crim,” he said.
He said it developed into an “all-in brawl” where he saw a girl’s head being stomped on while she was on the ground being punched by two others.
“The older woman was fairly well beaten and looked to have a broken nose,” he said.
He said a number of people looked on with “disgust”.
“My 10-year-old was in tears and fearful. I had to reassure him that he was safe with me,” he said.
“The whole episode went on for about 20 minutes.”
The man bundled his son into their car and left as police arrived.
Acting Insp Paul Goodwin said a 51-year-old woman had suffered a broken nose.
