The Albury Swim Centre was the setting for O & M Sharks’ crushing 13-4 victory against Central Newcastle in the A-grade men’s final yesterday.
Earlier, Pool Pirates won the B-grade men’s final 10-8 in extra time against Nordek and Pool Pirates women defeated Northside in an all-Albury B-grade women’s final.
In the all-Canberra A-grade women’s final Nordek was too strong for Tuggeranong, winning 8-4.
But it was the Sharks A-grade men who stole the show; After a close 6-5 win against Central Newcastle in the teams round yesterday, they took it to another level in the final.
Canberra player Rich Davis was dominant, with four goals, and he was supported by fellow import Graham Martin-Dye who also finished with four.
Taylor Miller also put on a good show, finishing with three goals.
In a nail-biting B-grade men’s decider Pool Pirates were too good when it counted against a star-studded Nordek side.
Pirate Pete Fenney was instrumental in getting his team over the line with two of his three goals coming in extra time.
Pirates women defeated Northside 5-4 in a hard-fought B-grade women’s final.
