Age no factor in finding love

ELVA Wood will be 70 in October but she hasn’t given up on the idea of finding lasting love yet.

Most weekends the Corowa great-grandmother can be found out on the town listening to live entertainment.

But she wants someone to share the experience with.

“I have found older men don’t want to go out, they want to stay in and watch television,” said the divorcee who has been single for 10 years.

The self-confessed Elvis Presley fan is a non-gambler and social drinker who has been using a dating service for the past 18 months to help boost her chances of finding love.

“I have had a couple I have liked, but they just wanted a friendship and nothing serious,” she said.

“It would be great to find someone younger who is interested in being social.”

Ms Wood believes age is no factor when it comes to finding love.

“You should never give up on love,” she said.

Yesterday she had no plans for Valentine’s Day, but she hoped that might change.

Serendipity Relationship Consultancy owner Sarah Schmidt described Ms Wood as a great cook who loved looking after people.

Her message for people looking for love is to keep looking.

“You can meet many people, but you have to find the right one,” she said.
