Swans saved by Williams

BURRUMBUTTOCK shored up its position in the Brocklesby and District Cricket Association’s top four with a four- wicket win against Walla at Walla on Saturday.

After being set 137 for victory, the Swans looked in trouble at 2-7 before Dave Williams came to the fore with a half-century to prove the difference between the teams.

Williams top-scored with 58 with support from Michael King (24) and Darryn McKimmie (15).

Earlier, Walla’s Joel Merkel made 40 to help put a competitive score on the board with Justin Carter impressing with 29.

Meanwhile, Rand defeated Balldale.
