Acting-Crime Manager with Wagga Police, Sandy Green, said the man’s victims were all female, ranging from 16 to 82 years of age.
The women placed advertisements in newspapers about lost property or items for sale.
Police will allege the man sent text messages to his unsuspecting victims pretending to be interested in purchasing their items.
They said this was followed by “menacing” messages of a sexual nature.
On a number of occasions it’s alleged the man told the victims he would give them back their lost property in exchange for sexual favours.
The 45-year-old alleged offender was arrested yesterday and charged with 21 counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.
Investigations are continuing, with further charges expected to be laid.
The man is due to face court in Wagga in April.
