Police said the man entered the business on the corner of Ballarat Road and Robinsons Road about 12.30am on February 15.

He approached the counter, produced a knife and demanded cash.

The staff member handed over money before the offender threatened a customer and stole his wallet.

Investigators have been told that the robber was last seen heading north on Robinsons Road in Deer Park.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is of African appearance and was wearing a light blue jumper, black pants with stripes, camel-coloured shoes with black laces and at the time had a pair of black underpants on his head.

Police have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their investigation. It is unclear if they will be going undie-cover during the investigation.
