HOW YESTERDAY REMEMBERS TOMORROW: HELEN LEMPRIERE TOURING EXHIBITION: This exhibition focuses on the current practices of six NSW-based artists and highlights the conceptual development of their work since winning the Helen Lempriere Travelling Art Scholarship.

SPECTRUM: An exploration of works that highlight colour theory through the dominance of primary and secondary colours. This exhibition is drawn from the Albury Council Collection and examines the role that colour plays in our world and how it is created.

MECHANICAL SHIFTERS
See two of the region’s local artists like you’ve never seen them before. Letizia Gavioli and Michael Laubli consider and explore mechanical elements and present an exhibition that combines their differing practices of 2D and 3D works, taking everyday objects from old machines and rearranging and shifting their purpose. Join the artists 11am to noon on Saturday, July 28 as they speak about their art practice and the exhibition.

TAMWORTH TEXTILE TRIENNIAL: SENSORIAL LOOP TOUR 2012-13: Demonstrating a legacy of sustaining a cultural heritage associated with textile practice for more than 30 years, the first Tamworth Textile Triennial features 22 creative textile artists representing a diversity of specific textile skills. IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL: Through the use of packaging and mundane items, Border artist Vicky Luke investigates the elements of nature, earth, water, fire and air, to encourage the viewer to think differently about the precious and fragile essence of our world.

OUR WATER: If you were in control of Australia's water, how would you use it? Learn about all things water in this hands-on exhibition that delves into the different ways of using and preserving this precious resource. Our Water engages and inspires visitors to expand their understanding and delve into Australia's unique water situation. It challenges visitors to investigate water from an urban, agricultural, industrial and environmental perspective.

WIRADJURI TALKBACK: A celebration of the perspectives and traditional knowledge of the Albury Wodonga region's Aboriginal people. It showcases a powerful and thought-provoking blend of traditional and contemporary elements illustrating the rich cultural traditions of Wiradjuri country. Alongside traditional Riverina bark paintings and tools are sketches by 19thcentury Aboriginal artist Tommy McRae, a local identity famed for his depictions of traditional Aboriginal life.

CROSSING PLACE— A STORY OF ALBURY: Weaving together the story of Albury from its first contact with the Wiradjuri people, traditional owners of the land, to the city we know today, this world-class exhibition, told through an engaging collection of objects, oral stories and film, is on permanent display in the main galleries of the Albury Library Museum.

THOROUGHFARE — INSIDE ALBURY’S TRANSPORT HUB: A look at Albury's transportation industry as it moved from horse-drawn carriages to the motor car. It draws on the site history of Albury's 526-540 Kiewa Street, now home to the Albury Library Museum. Discover the stories behind some of the businesses that operated along Albury's major transport thoroughfare. The site has been home to myriad owners and its uses are a reflection of the time, advances in technology and the people who worked there. The exhibition is filled with significant objects and stories relating to Crawford and Co stables, West's Motors garage, Azor Robbins and Alex Porter mechanics, Blacklocks motor cycle and car repairs and the Murray Valley Coaches depot.

TRANSFORMED — PHOTOGRAPHS BY PAUL TEMPLE: Transformed is a study of the ordinary, the everyday objects that surround us. “Black and white photography has the ability to transform the mundane, the everyday, into something special. We see in colour, we imagine in black and white,” Wodonga photographer Paul Temple says. 10am to 4pm daily.

MOUNT BEAUTY VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE
HUTS OF THE HIGH PLAINS: This Kiewa Valley Historical Society exhibition features cattle farmers from the Upper Kiewa Valley who first built and used huts on the Bogong High Plains from the 1880s. Many of these families have donated or lent items from their personal collections which show how these families lived in the huts during muster time. The exhibition includes a Memories of Bogong Hotel interactive display.

BEECHWORTH FABRIC AND FIBRE AWARD 2012: This diverse exhibition features entries in this year’s award, which recognises the use of fabric and/or fibre in the creation of works in the categories of clothing, sculpture and pictures.

NED’S NEEDLES: It’s all about the yarn this winter. Combining sensible winter warmth and with a celebration of Beechworth’s hirsute history, Ned’s Needles is a new competition for those who love to knit. See 30 of the contest’s finest knitted beards in this fun exhibition.

BILL HENSON: EARLY WORK FROM THE MGA COLLECTION: Monash Gallery of Art (MGA) holds one of Australia’s largest collections of Bill Henson photographs. Concentrating on work made between 1977 and 1992, the collection offers a significant survey of Henson’s early career. The 29 works in the exhibition are drawn from this collection.
