Border cancer support group Brave Hearts is fielding a team of 50 in this weekend’s Albury-Wodonga Boat Regatta.
Brave Hearts dragon boat club co-ordinator Pauline Harbick said their four boats would compete against 23 teams from across the Border.
“We’re going to be right up there on the winner’s stand ... we hope,” Ms Harbick said.
She said Brave Hearts started competing in dragon boat racing five years ago after the support group went searching for an activity for its members.
“People are out, they’re doing something, they’re positive, they’re keeping fit and healthy,” Ms Harbick said.
“They’re able to get that positive support.”
The regatta runs at 12.15pm today and 9am tomorrow at Wodonga’s Gateway Island.
