The 26 staff members from the Albury and Wodonga branches have moved into the top floor of the $6 million five-star energy sustainable offices built by Zauner Construction.
Project manager Matt Chisholm headed up construction of the building with total office space of 1500 square metres.
“We are very proud of the project,” he said.
“The high level finishes to the building really sets it apart.”
A peak workforce of 30 was involved in the construction.
ANZ will be joined on the top floor by other tenants, Blueprint Planning and Ashby Accountancy.
The bottom floor will be occupied solely by commercial real estate agency L.J. Colquhoun Dixon, which will move from its offices next door to the Albury Club later this month.
One area remains for a lease in the building which had original approval for three storeys.
The global financial crisis was a major factor in the reduction to two.
Zauner managing director Garry Zauner said the site had a rich history.
Bethany, the home that was demolished, was the residence of the Dalgety Farmers manager and later the home of tea merchant William Foo and his wife Joan.
“The site has had a really strong commercial link to Albury-Wodonga,” Mr Zauner said.
“It is a real gateway to the CBD.
“You come down Kiewa Street into town and come right past here, the council offices and Quest Apartments.”
ANZ Albury staff have relocated from Dean Street and conference rooms have been named in honour of key players in the relocation to new headquarters, Gavin Heathcote and Kieran Evans.
The boardroom is named Murray-Darling.
A total of 36 undercover parking spaces are located on the ground floor and are accessed via a lane next to Anzac House.
The architect was Leffler Simes, a Sydney practice that designed the Gardens Medical Centre and Northpoint Tower in Lavington.
