WORKERS at Woolworths’ warehouse in Barnawartha North continue to strike as the union today prepares for more talks on wage equality for regional workers.
News filtered in yesterday that workers at the Broadmeadows distribution centre stopped trucks and workers from entering the Melbourne warehouse for up to four hours in support of Barnawartha union members.
More than 350 union members among Woolworths’ warehouse workers started an indefinite strike on Friday morning.
The National Union of Workers representative Neil Smith said the action in Melbourne showed the regional workers they were well supported by their city colleagues.
Barnawartha North union members are still urging shoppers to boycott the supermarket.
