Issac Dallinger, from Albury, and Georgije Babic, from Sydney, both successfully managed to navigate their way through their respective quarter-final and semi-final matches yesterday.
Each will know the other’s game inside out, having been doubles partners for more than a year.
“It makes it a bit harder being friends, but we’ll be all right,” Dallinger said.
Babic is the No.1 seed for the boys division, and will be favourite going into the match, but Dallinger said he felt he was playing well after his previous matches.
“I think I’ve played pretty good,” Dallinger said.
“It was quite windy, which didn’t help, but both players have to deal with that.
“I won my quarter final 6-4 6-4, and then won my semi-final 7-6 6-3.”
“That was a tough one and I was 5-4 40-0 down in the first set as well, so I’m pretty happy that I manged to pull that back,” he said.
Babic, who says his forehand is his biggest strength, also won his semi-final in straight sets.
“My semi-final was tough,” he said.
