Gallop will be a guest speaker as part of the Riverina open conference Football New South Wales is hosting.
Regional Football NSW board member Stephen Hayes said it was important country people had the chance to hear how the sport was being run.
“A lot of the metropolitan areas have regular meetings with the sport’s governing bodies to let people know the state of the game,” Hayes said.
“These town hall-like meetings are something regional areas miss out on.”
“Football NSW has decided it would be a good idea for it to take the conferences on the road and give country people the same opportunity.”
The Riverina conference will be the first in a series that includes other regional centres such as Nowra and Orange.
“We’re very happy David Gallop has said he’ll be here,” Hayes said.
“It’s a big achievement to get him here and we’re excited to hear him speak.”
Other speakers will include Football NSW chairman Greg O’Rourke, chief executive Eddie Moore and former Socceroos captain Charlie Yankos.
Yankos played 49 times for the national team between 1983 and 1989 and scored seven goals.
The Melbourne Heart-Perth Glory match will kick off a couple of hours after the conference finishes.
The match will be the first time two A-League teams have played for points on the Border since the competition began in 2005.
It is hoped the match will draw a large crowd with the Heart and Glory having two of the league’s biggest marquee players in Socceroo legend Harry Kewell and former French international William Gallas.
