3.36PM: PROPERTIES are under threat in the Wantagong area this afternoon as firefighters battle a fire that started along the Jingellic Road.
Albury Rural Fire Services' Inspector Marg Wehner said 60 firefighters are working on the fire near Chinamans Gap, east of Holbrook.
"There are a few properties under threat in the area and crews are working to protect these," Insp Wehner said.
She said the fire started along the Jingellic Road and moved north into forest in the area and to the pine forest to the south of Jingellic Road.
The Jingellic Road is closed with fire burning on both sides of the road.
Eight fire trucks are on scene and an additional 10 are responding.
A State Forest helicopter is working on the fire and additional air support is being provided by NSW RFS and National Parks.
