After struggling in sweltering heat to 8-127 off 35 overs, match officials shortened the game to 25 overs and revised the target to 112.
The Scorpions needed seven runs off the final over and won with two balls to spare.
Coach Heath Naughton said last night it was another brave performance.
“The kids were struggling in the heat after playing in it for a few days,” Naughton said.
“It was another great effort and we weren’t far off getting through to the semis which would have been a fantastic achievement.
“It’s our best finish for a while.”
The Knights slumped to 4-8 after being sent in on a lively wicket before some excellent batting from East Albury’s Chris Bridle (46) and Wodonga’s Lucas Hutchinson (37) took the total to 92.
Lavington’s Michael Galvin then made 17 to put a competitive score on the board.
