Member for Benambra Bill Tilley said $10,000 each had been provided for the kindergarten and primary school in time for the start of term one.
They are among 87 education facilities across the state to share in $700,000 for minor capital works to improve play areas and facilities.
Mr Tilley said the grant would allow Chiltern kindergarten to open its storage room and add a designated play area to enhance the children’s learning environment.
Dederang Primary will extend its kindergarten and integrated care room to provide a wet area for artistic activities that will double as a cooking area.
“These are valuable projects that enhance the way families and children use, enjoy and engage with their local early years services,” Mr Tilley said.
The member for Benalla, Bill Sykes, announced $8500 funding for Tawonga Preschool, which will be spent on an outdoor activity area, including a wet area for art.
Principal Kim Franzke said the grant would enable the building of a shade sail which would allow children to play outside more often.
