Part of a small squad of divers training at the Lavington pool three times a week, the 11-year-old tied for first in the one-metre springboard against girls almost two years older.
Power completed six dives — a forward dive, back somersault, back dive half-twist, forward somersault, back dive and an inward in the championships in Canberra.
She started diving just two years ago at the suggestion of an East Albury neighbour.
Her mother Penny said it was further success for the Border-based diving club.
“The diving club was formed in 2006 to support keen interest from both members of the public and schools,” she said.
“In the past eight years there have been some exceptional results as a country club with national and state titles.
“We also have a representative on the Albury Aquatics Facility Advisory committee, with the aim to have diving included as part of any future pool.”
Albury Diving Club runs training sessions on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays and is working with schools to have diving included in their sports programs.
