Leagues battle for Shield final spot

THE Holbrook and Tumbarumba cricket associations will face off for a spot in the final of the Des Kennedy Shield when they meet in Sunday’s grand final qualifier at Rosewood.

The chance to take on defending champions, the Brocklesby and District Association, in the final will be up for grabs.

The final will be played at Rand on February 16.

Holbrook has named a strong team, with experienced Osborne mentor Darren Howard as captain.

Holbrook will also take on Tumbarumba in the under-16 Joe Wooding Shield.

It is the holder of the shield and has again assembled a quality team featuring several Murray and Riverina representatives for the clash at Holbrook.
