Called up at the last minute as the fourth driver of the O’Donnell-Shepherd-Booker car, Chahda said they ended up better than they thought, despite a shunt early in the race.
“I got heaps of laps in and despite a bent steering arm which put us nine laps down, we still managed second in class and 24th out of the 30 cars that finished,” he said.
“My 4½-hour stint at driving flat out around Bathurst was awesome.”
Chahda’s team was second in Class D behind the SEAT Leon of Billington-Scott-Owers.
Outright honours went to the Lowndes-Edwards-Bowe-Salo Ferrari F458 Italia, which finished 0.4 seconds ahead of the Primat-Jaeger-Buhk Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.
Chahda’s next drive will be at the opening round of the Shannon Nationals at Sandown in March.
