A parade through the centre of Adelaide was the opening act of the four-week-long Fringe arts festival - the largest of its kind in Australia.
Professional and amateur artist from around Australia and across the globe have embraced the festival in the city of churches and gather to perform at the non-curated event.
The Adelaide Fringe boasts 900 events staged in pop-up venues in parks, lane-ways, empty buildings, warehouses and established venues.
