Dozens of people turned up at each site, including Bonnie Doon Park in West Albury and Les Stone Park in Wodonga, where bags and bags of rubbish were picked up.
Meanwhile, many of Albury’s schools hosted their own clean ups in their playgrounds on Saturday.
Albury Council’s environmental health officer Lauriston Muirhead said the day was important in making people realise they were directly part of the environment.
