Acting Sgt Mitch Hawley said both the cars had been left unlocked and cash was stolen from them.
One was parked in a Woodlands Grove carport and the other was in Railway Avenue.
Loose change was stolen from both.
A cordless drill and a double adapter were also taken from the Subaru in Railway Avenue.
Sgt Hawley said such crimes, which were rare in quiet Bright, could have been the work of children or an out-of-towner drifting through.
“Regardless, no matter where you live, you should lock cars and take anything valuable out of them,” he said.
Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious should phone Bright police on (03) 5755 1444.
