Cyclist can take part in one of three rides leaving from Hovell Tree Park with all proceeds going towards its medical student scholarship fund in what is hoped will become an annual event.
Co-ordinator, Albury orthopedic surgeon Phil Frawley, said it was the first time the association had run a public health initiative.
“We’re the doctors, we should be promoting public health and fitness in the community,” he said.
“We hope that the public will be encouraged to follow our lead in seeking better health and fitness.”
A 110-kilometre ride starts at 7.30am, a 50-kilometre ride at 9.30am and a six-kilometre family ride at 10am.
Free pizza, drink bottles, prizes, children’s games and a jazz band await at the end.
The successful recipients from Albury-Wodonga high schools will be announced at 12.30pm.
