Both are coming off emphatic first round victories but both say they have a point to prove.
City stalwart Brogan Broadway said the Cup winner’s tag was a badge of honour.
“It gives us something to work for, wanting to defend that title,” she said. “We are hoping to be up there this year — we lost a few players from the midfield in the off-season including Hayley Rickard and others to other clubs in the league so we will have to draw on our depth.”
Albury City won 6-2 against Twin City last weekend, Melrose 7-0 winners against St Pat’s.
Melrose FC coach Les Chettleburgh doesn’t expect a repeat of those scorelines tomorrow.
He hopes to build on the club’s rise last year that threatened to break into the top four.
“Top four this year is the aim, we want to challenge these top sides week-in, week-out,” he said.
