The Boomers key defender was struggling ahead of the weekend clash with Albury United — the Phillip Island “Tough Mudder” the week before taking its toll on her legs.
Abel, pictured with fellow Border mudder Matt Frost, says giving birth and mudder-hood are kindred spirits.
“They are very similar in that when you finish the first thing you say is ‘I’m not going to do that again’,” she said.
“But somehow you find yourself back at the start line for another one.
This time we took the long course — it was about 22 kilometres, crawling through tunnels and water, getting jolts from live wires.
But would I do the long course again? Yes, I would.”
