1.50PM UPDATE: A man has been refused bail over the death of a Holbrook man following a dispute at a rural property last night.
Anthony Craig Cromb, of St James, faced magistrate Megan Greenwood, who was linked to Albury Court via videolink from Wagga.
Detective Inspector Brad Blanchard said Cromb and the dead man had been friends before an argument occurred last night and Cromb, 52, allegedly fatally struck the Holbrook man, 35.
Police were called to a home on Culcairn-Holbrook Road around 8pm to reports of two men fighting.
When officers arrived, the Holbrook man was found dead in the driveway of the property.
Cromb, who had been working at Holbrook, was arrested at the scene.
After being taken to Holbrook police station he was transported to Albury and did not apply for bail.
The victim of the killing is believed to be a single man who was a long time resident of the Holbrook district.
Cromb was remanded in custody and will reappear at Albury Court on Monday.
