A HOST of young guns from Corowa Rowing Club made their mark at the recent Australian Championships in Penrith.

Sara Williams, Megan Vogel, Brad Pearsall and Tom Whitechurch all made finals, which culminated in four gold medals, a silver and three top eight finishes.
Competing at her first national regatta, Vogel, 15, went up against the best rowers in the under-17s.
She won gold in both the double-scull and quad-scull team events and finished sixth in the single scull.
Also at his first national regatta, Pearsall, 15, made the A-final in all three of his events.
He won a silver medal in the under-17 scull before combining with Nagambie’s Nathan Leckie to claim gold in the double-scull.
He won another gold in the quad-scull, with Whitechurch acting as Coxswain.
Williams, 16, entered three sculling events in the highly competitive under-19 bracket.
She finished ranked 15th in Australia in the singles, with sixth and fourth-placed finishes in her two team events.
The Corowa Rowing Club has just started its winter training program, with contact details available on the club’s website.
The club will be celebrating the quartet’s achievements at its presentation night on Saturday.
