So, who better to have on board as a corporate sponsor than Crowe Horwath?
The accountants and financial advisers have been in the region for 120 years and marketing co-ordinator Mel Millgate said they had been involved in the run for 10 years and as sponsors for four.
“We’ve been in the region for 120 years and are very much a part of the community,” Miss Millgate said.
“Our Nail Can Hill team has grown significantly over the years, from six to 10 runners to about 100 this year.”
Miss Millgate said Albury West Rotary Club taking on the organisation of the run and directing money raised to local charities had been the key to getting more staff on board.
“That’s an important aspect, that the money is going back locally,” she said.
“This year Wewak Street School (is benefiting) — it’s great to support the local community.”
Miss Millgate encouraged other businesses to join in the challenge.
“I have done it once and it is an incredible sense of achievement when you cross that finish line,” she said.
“The camaraderie even among the people walking it is fantastic, you’re talking to different people as you’re conquering the hill.
“In the corporate challenge you don’t need to be a big team or business — it’s the average of the fastest four people that wins.”
