EMERGENCY crews worked for more than an hour to free a trapped driver after a crash on the southbound side of the Hume Freeway near Wodonga this evening.
It is believed the white sedan hit a tree about four kilometres south of the McKoy Street intersection.
More than a dozen SES and CFA personnel worked to free the driver, a 70-year-old woman.
She was taken to Albury Base Hospital where she is in a critical but stable condition.
