Darren Ogier’s line-up is coming off a confidence-boosting win over North Ballarat with the coach saying his players would need to repeat that performance to match the competition heavyweight.
“There are a lot of positive energy throughout the club this week as we take on the Eastern Ranges in our first night game in Wangaratta,” Ogier said.
“The players have prepared well and are looking forward to taking on last years premiers who will continue to be one of the teams to beat.
“It’s great to see two of our leaders in Caleb Marchbank and Nick Coughlan return to the side after injury ruined their 2013 campaigns.”
Albury’s Nick Coughlan will return to the side after being overseas with the AIS while Caleb Marchbank (Benalla) returns for his first game in 14 months following an injury-riddled run.
Euroa’s Nate Trotter will debut as the 23rd player.
“As a group we will be looking to move the ball quickly to a potent forward line,” Ogier said.
“But at the same time we will need to pressure their ball carriers to force the Eastern Ranges into error.”
