The scribble is the latest in a series of graffiti attacks that have frustrated Beechworth police over the past fortnight.
Sgt Geoff Still said the black tag on the fence at the side of the 1997 police station on the corner of Williams and High streets had been daubed some time between 5pm Friday and 9am Monday.
It followed graffiti damage of street signs and a generator placed in the Police Paddocks for the Golden Horseshoes Festival.
Sgt Still urged anybody with information to contact police to stop the spraying before heritage landmarks fall victim.
“We’re worried that they could target the historic buildings,” Sgt Still said.
