The league will field two teams, with John Maddock and Mark McDonald to take charge of the under-14s and Scott Jones and John Teunon to lead the under-16s.
Albury-Wodonga, Wangaratta and District, Seymour and Benalla-Mansfield have also entered teams, with matches to start at Norms Minns Oval and W.J. Findlay Oval from 9.30am.
Tallangatta and District league president Rex Gray said yesterday the league was excited to be back.
“We played a few years ago but it was a bit taxing as the boys had to play on the Saturday (back then),” Gray said.
“But with no club football due to the interleague this weekend there was a great opportunity to return.
“We have had a fantastic response to it.
“We need kids to get involved in rep footy and I’m sure the coaches are going to have a tough job picking the teams.”
Albury-Wodonga teams dominated the carnival last year, winning both divisions.
The under-16 team defeated Wangaratta in the grand final by 18 points while Matt Lewin’s under-14s were also successful.
