UPDATE: Albury child approach incident now deemed 'not suspicious'

UPDATE: Following investigations into a suspected child approached incident in Albury yesterday, police have now deemed the matter not suspicious.

No further action will be taken by police.


ALBURY police are appealing for help from the public after a child approach at Albury yesterday.

A 12-year-old boy was waiting to be collected after school at the intersection of Kiewa and George Street, Albury at about 3.30pm.

While waiting, the boy was approached by a man aged between 35 and 40, Caucasian and about 185cm tall, wearing a fluorescent-coloured beanie.

The man asked the boy to get into his car, a white late model single-cab ute with a flat back tray, which the boy declined.

The man left the area and the boy informed a nearby student, who then told a teacher.

The matter was reported to police who are now alerting the local community and would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist.
