The facility, known as Hair Design, offers Certificate II and III in hairdressing and the first intake of students started using it in March.
Student Dan Klappert, 22, is already reaping the benefits of studying in a salon environment.
The Certificate II student has just started working a couple of days a week at The Last Tangle Hair Company in Albury.
“It’s great to train in a replica salon as it makes you comfortable going from this to a real scenario,” Mr Klappert said.
The facility was officially opened on Monday night with hospitality and event students providing the catering and service.
The salon will be opened to the public later this year for haircuts and colour treatments.
The next round of intakes will start on July 14.
