Barber will be part of a 10-player NSW basketball squad heading to Townsville for the national titles in August.
The rangy 11-year-old was the only player selected from the Border after the Riverina trials were held in Albury last month.
Albury lost to McKillop in the final.
Barber started playing basketball only a little more than two years ago and plays for Celtics at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre in the Tuesday night competition.
The Thurgoona primary student is well above average height for her age and is already 178 centimetres.
