HOLBROOK’S HMAS Otway is taking on a decidedly summery hue, in a Murray Arts project that’s sure to brighten the town in these bleak winter months.
Project volunteers have started the mammoth task of “yarn-bombing” the 90-metre long body of the famed submarine in every shade of yellow.
Baling twine, bedding sheets and plastic, along with more traditional materials like wool, have all been knitted together for the project, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of The Beatles tour of Australia.
The project will be officially unveiled tomorrow.
