Despite running out 44-point winners, Russell was far from satisfied with Berrigan’s showing against the struggling Rovers.
The Rovers are yet to win a game this season and had copped four successive 100-plus point hidings before last week.
“We struggled a bit,” Russell said.
“We had five away for the weekend and Deni played quite well but overall we found it hard to get into the contest.
“We need to improve on our disposal, definitely, and probably our endeavour.
“We’ve been good in patches but not consistent enough.
“We’re just ticking along at the moment.
“I’m expecting Picola United to give us a real shake this week.”
Tocumwal should have an entertaining battle against Blighty at Toc-umwal.
Jerilderie is unlikely to be troubled by Mathoura at Jerilderie, while Yarroweyah goes in favourites when it hosts Deniliquin Rovers.
Strathmerton has the bye.
