SS understands a regional team was looking for the star striker to bolster its playing stocks.
Walker, who spent time in Melbourne Heart’s A-League under-20 team and was loaned out to the Oakleigh Chargers in the top flight of Melbourne soccer, has returned to the Border this year.
He is a clear leader in the golden boot — a brace at the weekend taking his season tally to 21 goals with nine rounds to play.
Twin City coach David Afonso confirmed the offer.
“Zac is enjoying being back home, enjoying scoring goals,” he said.
“He is a key to our league and cup hopes and we’d like to see him play out the year here, and if it all goes well perhaps he could play in the Border’s NPL outfit next year — Murray United.”
