Along with the Great Alpine Road, the Benambra-Corryong Road south of Stacey's Bridge Nariel has also been closed due to heavy snowfalls.
The Omeo Highway between Lightning Creek and Glen Wills is also now closed until 7am Wednesday morning for snow clearing.
The Bright-Tawonga Road and the Bogong High Plains Road near Mt Beauty have been affected by heavy snowfalls and fallen trees but both remain open.
Stanley Road, near Stanley, has also been affected by heavy snow falls.
VicRoads Regional Director Bryan Sherritt urged motorists to take extra care on the road.
"Today’s weather conditions may continue to have an impact on the road network over the coming days and motorists should to be aware and drive to the changed conditions," Mr Sherritt said.
Other key roads in the greater Alpine districts that have been affected include:
– The speed limit on the Murray Valley Highway near Shelley has been reduced to 40km/h due to slippery conditions.
– Lockharts Gap Road – VicRoads undertaking inspections to ensure road is operating safely.
Motorists are advised that conditions will have changed in these areas and they should be avoided, and where possible seek alternative routes.
