The Wodonga Venue Guide, launched yesterday, profiles 49 different venues based on access, capacity, facilities and location.
The directory is intended to serve as a one-stop shop for people thinking about hosting their events in Wodonga and business owners such as Natasha Callewaert believe it will attract more custom.
As owner-manager of Quest Wodonga, Ms Callewaert said the hotel wanted to attract more companies looking for a venue for conferences or other events.
“This sort of thing is crucial to our growth ... it promotes exactly what we’re trying to do here in Wodonga,” she said.
The city’s mayor Rodney Wangman said the comprehensive guide would become a vital planning tool for event organisers, whether they were local or from out-of-town.
“Wodonga has hosted several prestigious events recently and has some great events coming up including the Gaslight Festival and the Ulysses annual general meeting next year,” Cr Wangman said.
The Wodonga Venue Guide is available online by visiting the council’s website or from the events team by phoning (02) 6022 9300.
