The $175,000, 18-carat gold Melbourne Cup will arrive in Wodonga on Saturday, October 18.
It is one of 34 destinations to host the Melbourne Cup tour as part of a three-month journey around Australia and New Zealand.
The iconic trophy will be accompanied by Cup ambassadors who will be on site during the day to promote and educate the local community about the race that stops a nation.
The Cup Tour will start in the small West Australian town of York, 375 kilometres east of Perth, next month before crossing the continent to ultimately land in Melb-ourne on October 27.
Wagga, Cootamundra and Deniliquin will also be part of the tour.
