Owner Tamara Rangi said Pepito loves to burrow into shopping bags for treats like chicken necks and wings.
“He gets very excited,” she said.
“I tell the delivery people he’s trying to help them get the bags out, but really, he’s getting stuck into them.”
The five-year-old dog has had a van named in his honour as part of a competition run by the supermarket chain.
The dog himself, sporting a nice warm, white winter coat, launched the van at the retailer’s Albury supermarket yesterday.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Ms Rangi said of winning the competition.
“Albury’s actually got the Pepito van so I’ll be able to see it travelling around making deliveries.”
Coles Albury online manager Kylie Koschel said online grocery shopping was growing in popularity.
“It’s great to see the winner get rewarded in the local area,” she said.
“It’s cute — we’ve got a mascot now.”
