A detour to the Murray Valley Highway has been established via the Chiltern-Howlong Road.
Drivers warned to plan for delays or avoid the area altogether.
7.59AM: Drivers have been urged to avoid the Hume Freeway near Chiltern after a truck rollover closed the northbound lanes.
Early reports suggest the semi-trailer, which was carrying glass, rolled onto its side shortly after 7am.
The driver is believed to have climbed out of the vehicle unassisted but was in shock. He has been taken to Wodonga hospital.
Police, ambulance, fire services and VicRoads are on the scene and the northbound lanes have been closed.
Traffic delays are building and cars have been advised to avoid the area altogether.
