The Osboldstone Road business went into voluntary administration on Wednesday.
It comes after 60 workers lost their jobs at Wangaratta’s Bruck Textile Technologies earlier this month.
The staff of Riband Steel were told by liquidators on Wednesday and handed separation certificates.
Liquidator Greg Andrews, from GS Andrews Advisory, said the steel fabrication company closed because its customers wouldn’t pay up.
It is believed no money was put aside for the workers’ entitlements and Mr Andrews did not think the business could be sold.
Mr Andrews said $1 million was owed to the company but he did not know how much money the company owed, or how much employees were owed.
The workers may be forced to rely on the Federal Government’s Fair Entitlements Guarantee scheme.
It is the scheme former Bruck workers have been forced to rely on to get their entitlements.
