A MISSED penalty looks to have ended Wangaratta’s hopes of making the cup finals. After a 2-2 draw with second-placed Boomers, the Red Devils sit four points adrift of eighth-placed Albury City and need to win their final two games of the year. Wangaratta tackles Wodonga Diamonds this weekend, takes three points from a bye and finishes against St Pats. Coach Mario Antonello, who has re-signed for next year, said if they failed on Sunday it would be impossible. “Hamish Busk (pictured) slotted the first penalty on Sunday after Jon Shaw was brought down by the keeper in the box,” he said. “And then when Elliott Jones was brought down it looked like it was going to be an instant replay.”
