The Sanger Street business was targeted about 9.30am this morning with a teenage boy entering the shop and distracting the female owner before grabbing scissors.
The boy is then reported to have threatened the owner before leaving with cash.
Employees from a neighbouring firm chased the boy along an alley way to the rear of the business, but he is believed to be still at large.
